Crunchyroll announced the arrival in Italian cinemas of HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battlenew film for the work of Haruichi Furudate. Crunchyroll, the home of anime worldwide, announced yesterday at CinemaCon that it has acquired the international theatrical rights to HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battlebased on the beloved volleyball series HAIKYU!! Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment are ready to distribute the film in Italian theaters starting from May 30, 2024. The film will be available both in Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in Italian.

As of March 29, the film has grossed over 8.5 billion yen ($57 million) since its release in Japanese theaters on February 16, making it the highest-grossing film of 2024 so far at the Japanese box office.
Official synopsis of the film:
Shoyo Hinata joins the Karasuno High volleyball club to become like her idol, a former Karasuno player known as the “Little Giant.” But Hinata soon discovers that she must team up with her middle school nemesis, Tobio Kageyama. Their contrasting styles turn into a surprising weapon, but can they beat rival school Nekoma High in the highly anticipated “Dumpster Battle,” the long-awaited showdown between two teams of underdogs?

Based on Haruichi Furudate's original manga series published in Shonen Jump, HAIKYU!! is a slice-of-life sports anime that revolves around Shoyo Hinata's passion for volleyball. Inspired by a short player known as “Little Giant”, Hinata creates a team in his last year of middle school. Unfortunately, his team clashes with that of the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama in their first tournament, inevitably losing.
