Weak passwords and other basic security flaws allowed a hacker to access the data of 25 million passengers in Transavia’s systems in 2019. The Dutch Data Protection Authority therefore imposes a fine of 400,000 euros on the airline. The criminal eventually stole data from ‘only’ 83,000 travelers, employees and suppliers.
