The Postal Police will deliver a first report on the hacker attack suffered by the Lazio Region to the prosecutor’s office in the next few hours. According to what was learned by the AGI, the authors of the attack, perhaps an international organization, last night made a request for a ransom in bitcoin. Checks are underway by Postal investigators.
The violent attack, which has been underway for at least 24 hours and has targeted the Ced of the Lazio Region, which has also deactivated those of the Health Lazio portal and the vaccination network, comes from abroad. It is the first step in the investigations that the postal police are carrying out in coordination with the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office. At the moment, the geographic area from which the malware that infected the regional servers originated has not yet been defined.
At 3 pm, the president of the Lazio Region Nicola Zingaretti will report the developments to the press. The press conference is held in the Tiber room of the regional council headquarters in via Cristoforo Colombo 212.
“The vaccination campaign does not stop and yesterday 50 thousand vaccines were administered, despite the most serious cyber attack suffered. Until 13 August there are over 500 thousand citizens who have their reservations and can go to the administration centers in the date and time indicated above “. The councilor for Health and Social-Sanitary Integration of the Lazio Region, Alessio D’Amato, writes in a note, adding: “The technicians are working to safely reactivate the new reservations and no data has been stolen. We are in contact constant with the commissioner to ensure that users who get vaccinated have the green pass in the usual way “.
It will be very difficult to allow the computer systems of the Lazio Region to resume functioning after the hacker attack that targeted the Ced. This is what is learned from investigative circles according to which the only solution to restarting the services safely is to set up a parallel system.
