Figo was one of the protagonists of the meeting that was played under the effects of zero gravity.

Portuguese soccer legend Luis Figo participated in the making of a Guinness World Record by playing a game of soccer at more than 20,000 feet. The match between two teams of four was played on a suitable field in a plane that flew parabolically to create zero gravity conditions.

The eight players were floating above the cabin of the aircraft trying to score with the difficulty generated by that space environment. The winner of the Ballon d’Or in 2000, managed to score the winning goal for the “red” team.

“The conditions are totally different. It is extremely complicated and difficult to be able to play”, declared the legendary former Barcelona FC and Real Madrid player.

It should be noted that this meeting was held as a result of a promotional campaign that MasterCard is carrying out prior to the celebration of the world soccer championship that will take place in Qatar in November of this year.

“This was a unique and incomparable experience that deserves to be in the Guinness Book of Records as the highest match in history”added the Portuguese striker.

Luis Figo was one of the best players on the planet during the nineties and the beginning of the century. He was very controversial during his years as a professional player, due to the iconic transfer from Barcelona to Real Madrid that caused him the hatred of the Catalan fans for supposedly having betrayed the affection of the Catalan fans by signing with his greatest rival.
