At the request of the leader of the MDB in the Senate, Eduardo Braga (AM), the House’s Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE) will also call the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, to talk to the collegiate about fuel prices. Earlier, the CAE approved a request for an invitation to the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, and the president of Petrobras, Joaquim Silva e Luna, to provide clarifications on the subject in the commission. The hearing date is still to be scheduled.
The request was presented by the president of CAE, senator Otto Alencar (PSD-BA), who initially wanted to approve it in a format of summons to the authorities – which would force them to appear.
At the request of the government leader in the Senate, Fernando Bezerra (MDB-PE), the application was changed to an invitation.
Upon requesting Guedes to also be invited to speak to CAE on the subject, Braga defended that the senators discuss the tax issue involving the price of fuel.
“Absurd taxation that is not just for the States, but also for the Union”, said the leader of the MDB.
