“Villaging politics!” wrote the Minister of Indigenous Peoples on Instagram when commenting on the candidates’ victory
The Minister of Indigenous Peoples, Sonia Guajajaracelebrated this Monday (Oct 7, 2024) the election of councilors from the “cocar bench” on Sunday (Oct 6).
“Villaging politics! Bancada do Cocar is growing and occupying more and more spaces throughout Brazil!” said Guajajara in publication on Instagram.
The indigenous councilors cited by the minister are:
- Awju Krikati (MDB-MA), elected in Montes Altos (MA);
- Cláudia Kanela (PP-MT), elected in Luciara (MT);
- Ingrid Sateré Mawé (Psol-SC), elected in Florianópolis (SC);
- Eliane Tabajara (PSD-CE), elected in Tabajara (CE);
- Flávia Kaingang (PRD-PR), elected in São Jerônimo da Serra (PR);
- Inayê Kaiowá (PSDB-MS), elected in Antônio João (MS);
- Indiara Ferreira (PP-BA), elected in Santa Cruz Cabrália (BA);
- Jackeline Tukano (Rede-AM), elected in São Gabriel Da Cachoeira (AM);
- Antônia Patté (PP-RS), elected in Nonoai (RS); and
- Andrea Kariri (PT-CE), elected in São Benedito (CE).
