Valentino Rossi did very well even in the wet in the two days of testing with the WRT Team at Magny-Cours.
As we showed a couple of days ago, the “Doctor” was back aboard the 2022 spec Audi R8 LMS on the French track to prepare for his GT World Challenge Europe debut.
Vincent Vosse, head of the Belgian team, said he was very happy with how the works went and with the performances obtained by the Marchesan on a treacherous track.
“Valentino did very well in the wet, he naturally understood the level of grip on the track. He really impressed me a lot, but not surprised because we all know his natural talent,” Vosse told Motorsport.com, then illustrating the project.
“We will still do 6 to 10 days of testing, it depends on how the programs go. For now everything is going according to plan and in Magny-Cours the test went well”.
“We are setting ourselves goals from time to time. The first is that Valentino can be fast, after which he will prepare for the start of the season. Finally we will try to fight for the podium, everything that will come more will be a bonus for everyone”.
In the first week of March the championship will be on stage at Paul Ricard for the collective tests at the beginning of the year and at that point the team will be complete.
For now it is not known who will join Rossi in his first full season with the cars, but the plans have already been defined in Audi Sport.
“Valentino will have an official rider by his side for all 10 races, plus another to join the crew in the endurance events.”
“Before the collective tests we will reveal their names, they are already decided by the House, but we await their ok for the announcement”.
