Nigel Bailly will make his GT World Challenge Europe debut for the 2022 season, where he will be competing in the Endurance Cup.
The CMR team has in fact reached an agreement with the 32-year-old Belgian paraplegic driver who recently took part in the 24h of Le Mans with the Oreca of the team of disabled competitors created by Frédéric Sausset.
Bailly, who found himself confined to a wheelchair at the age of 14 following a serious motocross accident, will board a Bentley Continental GT3 specially modified to allow him to drive with the use of only his arms.
“Nigel is a true enthusiast, who loves motor racing and does everything to live his dream – said the head of CMR, Charly Bourachot – Obviously, the project to enter a Bentley in the Endurance Cup for him I liked immediately, and I’m happy for it to materialize in 2022! “
Bailly added: “From the first moment I spoke with Charly, I immediately felt at ease. Finding a team capable of taking on such a challenge is not so obvious. I thank CMR and its technical team for their welcome. Furthermore, this great project would not have been possible without the unconditional support of my partners. “
