With a shot from the back in the final 10 minutes of Qualifying 1, Patrick Kujala gave Lamborghini the Pole Position for Race 1 of the Sprint Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe.
Under the cloudy skies of Barcelona that threaten rain around lunchtime (therefore potentially for the first round of the last weekend of the 2024 vintage which will start at 2.00pm), the Barwell Motorsport rider completed in 1’39” 091 the best return at the wheel of the Huracan #72 which he shares with Gabriel Rindone to make an assault on success in the BRONZE CUP Class.
Kujala brought the trio of Mercedes into line who had taken the lead from the first minutes, with Maxi Gotz second by 0″294 in the #9 AMG GT3 of Boutsen VDS and Lucas Auer third at the wheel of the #48 of Winward Racing; for the latter a very precious result in terms of the duel for the PRO title, given that the BMW #32 of WRT did not go beyond 18th place with Dries Vanthoor just over a second behind.

Fourth we have the Mercedes #10 of Boutsen VDS which Aurélien Panis places in Pole Position in the SILVER CUP Class, keeping behind a PRO trio led by the Porsche #96 of Sven Muller (Rutronik Racing), followed by the Audi #99 of Ricardo Feller ( Tresor Attempto Racing) and Ben Green’s Ferrari #14 (Emil Frey Racing).
Top10 completed by three BRONZE CUP cars: eighth is the Ferrari #93 of Sky Tempesta Racing driven by Eddie Cheever, preceding the McLaren #188 of Louis Prette (Garage 59) and Sandy Mitchell in the Lamborghini #78 of Barwell Motorsport .
Immediately behind these, here are the Ferraris of Eliseo Donno (#71 AF Corse) – second in the SILVER CUP – and Thierry Vermeulen (#69 Emil Frey Racing), and the Aston Martins of Comtoyou Racing with David Pittard who took Pole in the GOLD CUP and Dante Rappange to follow him.
