Let’s not expect miracles for GTA Trilogy Remastered.
The fashion of remastered and remake seems to never end, but if for the latter you can certainly applaud the commitment, with a reconstruction from the foundations of an entire software (see Demon’s Souls), the remastered ones seem to be a sop, presenting themselves most of the time with a simple resolution increase, some light and texture fixes and nothing more (see Crysis and Alan Wake).
Incredibly, too Rockstar has allowed herself to be enticed by this route and while many are hoping at least for a remastered of Red Dead Redemption, here is the trilogy of Grand Theft Auto release on PlayStation 2 ─ to be clear. GTA III, GTA: Vice City And GTA: San Andreas they will therefore have some technical upgrades, trying to keep up with modern technologies.
It will be very difficult and to confirm this, a leaker on Reddit ─ therefore always info to be taken with a grain of salt ─ he has precisely stated that the titles belonging to the trilogy will not be so different from the originals, with slight improvements to animations, faces and lighting; we must therefore greatly lower expectations.
We know that Rockstar’s Dundee studio has managed to port the three software on Unreal Engine 4 passing from the Renderware, the original engine but which for obvious necessities it was not possible to make any upgrades. The possible price seems to have also come out, which seems to be above $ 50 at least at the start, and then settles between $ 29.99 and $ 39.99. To find out if all this will be true we will only have to wait a few months, with an estimated release between November and December of this year.
