Through the GTA Reddit page, as you can see just below yourself, it has been reported that one of the characters in GTA Vice City – Phil Cassidy – is not wearing a shirt with the confederate flag inside the trailer dedicated to GTA The Trilogy, new version of the old Grand Theft Auto. Is it possible that the Rockstar saga is turning to politically correct?
As you can see, the character – in the recent GTA The Trilogy trailer – wears a shirt that displays a skull instead of the Confederate flag. There confederate flag, we recall, it is the flag used by the Confederate Army of the South of the United States during the Civil War: it is therefore associated with behaviors and mentalities that are anything but positive.
The removal of the Confederate flag from GTA The Trilogy is one though surprise, as the saga is known to be politically incorrect. GTA has always been a parody of the United States and everything negative about it. A user on Reddit explains that the best way to fight a negative symbol is to show it in a parody way, showing its negativity in a comic way. Hiding it is not the solution.
The user who shared the comparison image from GTA The Trilogy then wonders what else has been changed: Is it possible that the development team has decided to polish a number of details so as not to risk annoying a part of the public?
Finally, here’s our special dedicated to GTA III: when Rockstar revolutionized the world of video games three times in a row.
