Every Sunday, “special” girls and boys will be able to experience an afternoon of sport and inclusion at the “I Delfini” swimming pool in Prà together with their families, in collaboration with the Maruzza Association. Success for the first stage with over 50 participants
Genoa – A special Sunday for “special” girls and boys. Last Sunday the “I Delfini” swimming pool in Prà it hosted a group of young people with disabilities who, together with their families, were able to experience an aquatic experience offered by the Aragno Sports Group.
Over 50 people participated in the first stage of the new project Acquability designed by Marco Ghiglione, director of the plant, and created with the Maruzza Association, engaged in the field of pediatric palliative care.
“The project is aimed at all children and young people with disabilities and their families with the aim of offering an aquatic path, encouraging sharing and inclusion”, explains Ghiglione. “They will be able to try water activities with therapists and educators but also with mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters who want to participate”.
Last Sunday’s was the first of a long series of appointments. From now to May, every Sunday in Prà will be a day of celebration for many young people. “We recommend that you communicate your intention to participate in the activities via whatsapp message to the number 3791088014. To access the facility you need to have a Green Pass. The first day was a great success and we are sure we will grow further”.
The Aragno Sports Group, founded in September 1946, carries out activities in the area with the aim of promoting the culture and benefits of sport. “Despite the moment of enormous difficulty – explains Marco Ghiglione – we wanted to activate this collaboration with the Maruzza Liguria Region Association to dedicate these days to those who can find an extraordinary means of inclusion and life in sport. It is a further step on the path that we have already undertaken in 2018 with the “Drop after Drop” project, thanks to which psychomotor teachers welcome children with autism to swimming courses. We are proud to be able to start this new path that will last an entire season, every Sunday, until May 2022 and, for those who want, there will also be the opportunity to try the beautiful paths of the tropical swimming pool of the Il Bellavita Center, in the province of Alessandra with to which we are closely connected “.
The Maruzza Association was born thanks to a group made up of doctors, parents, professionals who have chosen to take action in the area to raise awareness among institutions and ordinary people on the importance of palliative care and the value of home or hospice care. Their motto is “AT HOME IS BETTER”.
The smiles of the girls and boys present in Prà last Sunday certify the success of the initiative. “First in the water and then at the poolside with a snack. It was a total party. A wonderful afternoon for the kids, their families and all of us, really happy to be part of this joy”, Ghiglione closes.
Next Sunday a new stage of a long and beautiful journey. On the website www.gsaragno.com all the information as well as on the social networks of the Aragno Sports Group.
