The return of Grid has gone quite well, with a Legends that has focused heavily on the narrative mode Driven to Glory and on an immediacy in the gameplay that seems to have pleased everyone. The direction of the Grids is now to be an arcade-style racing game than anything else and this is also demonstrated by the new DLC, the first major update for this title.
Grid Legends in fact sees the introduction of the modality Car-Nage, a sort of Destruction Derby which also has a narrative value and which will star Valentin Manzi, played by Ncuti Gatwa. This leads to the introduction of five new vehicles, including an ice cream truck.
“Classic Car-Nage brings the cathartic and fascinating destructive experience of the demolition derby to the GRID Legends universe“said Steven Brand, Codemasters Associate Creative Director.”New paths with multiple intersections and ramps ensure plenty of opportunities to pile up, while story mode objectives allow players to strategize their own to survive events. Can’t wait to join the people online to cause some chaos!“.
But that’s not all. Given that Grid Legends will participate in the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 23 to 26 June in collaboration with Team Fordzilla, the in-game TFZ-P1a car designed by Ford’s esports team.
“After months of collaborating with players around the world, we are thrilled to see our TFZ-P1 debut in the popular and addicting GRID Legends game. We want people to experience the thrill of driving a Ford wherever they are and on whatever platform they play. I hope gamers all over the world enjoy our new racing car, and for racing fans attending Goodwood, they will even be able to drive it in the game sitting in the actual car!“said Boris Ferko, Design Manager, Ford of Europe.
The update is already available on all consoles (except Switch) and PC.
