Liliana Segre against no vax: “Madness comparing vaccines to the Shoah”
“Comparing vaccines to the Shoah is madness”: declares Liliana Segre, senator for life and Holocaust survivor, commenting on the anti-Green pass demonstrations that took place throughout Italy during which comparisons were made between the discrimination suffered by Jews during Nazism and the introduction of the green anti-Covid certificate.
Speaking to Jewish Pages, Liliana Segre stated that the comparisons between the Jewish persecution and the provisions on vaccines are “follies, gestures in which bad taste meets ignorance: since I hope I am neither ignorant nor have bad taste, I do not I can take it too much “.
“The distorted use of memory is a long-lasting shame,” says the Holocaust veteran, who adds: “After seeing Anne Frank’s beloved face used in the stadium, I’m no longer surprised. I’m not saying I’m numb, but I’ve got a sort of rind ”.
According to Segre, condemning those who refuse the vaccine and speak of “health dictatorship” is a duty. “It is such a time of ignorance, of violence, no longer repressed, that it has become ripe for these distortions. It is a school that has been received in which bullies are the strongest “.
“In any case, I want to hope that those protesters represent a minority. Because how can you not get vaccinated with a terrible disease like this that killed without distinction? ” adds the senator for life. To those who are not no vax but are uncertain because fearful of the vaccine, however, Segre reminds us that “fear is overcome”.
“If the only weapon to fight this disease is the vaccine, we don’t know any others, and let’s make the vaccine then. I didn’t think about it for two minutes, on the contrary I was very happy. And so everyone in my family got vaccinated. I’m not a doctor, but I believe what they tell me ”.
Precisely for having vaccinated, Segre was the object of criticism and insults on the web: “Incredible also for what they attacked me. They said I had shares in Pfizer. Perhaps. Unfortunately I don’t have any. Not even these lies amaze me. Let’s remember all the falsehoods about the attack on the Twin Towers, with some accusing the Jews of being responsible ”.
Ai no vax, on the other hand, Liliana Segre sends a clear message: “If one wants to see conspiracy everywhere, well, stay home. Alone. You do not go around the streets, you do not go into the world, you do not harm others. Then I know, usually those who make those choices don’t care about others ”.
