The government is preparing to extend the state of emergency and the obligation of the Green Pass, also in the workplace, at least until Easter, which in 2022 is scheduled for Sunday 17 April. It is the practically unanimous orientation within the executive – on the input of Health Minister Roberto Speranza and Prime Minister Mario Draghi – after the latest data which showed an increase in infections, patients hospitalized and victims of Covid.
The increase in cases continues to be sustained. For the second consecutive week the new positives are a third more than those of the previous seven days. Between Monday 25 and yesterday, 30,792 infections were discovered, against 23,305 in the period 18-24 October. The increase is 32.1%, practically identical to that recorded last week (32.3%). We can no longer speak of the effect of the increase in tampons due to the obligation of the Green Pass to work, given that the tests were 3 million and 202 thousand up to yesterday and 3 million and 324 thousand up to Sunday 24. The circulation of the virus, as also shown by the hospital wards, where the occupancy of ordinary beds is increasing, even if fortunately the data remain low compared to the capacity of the health system, which therefore is not currently suffering, and even if intensive care continues to be stable.
The regions. In Friuli cases almost doubled (+ 88%), in Campania + 50%
All regions are seeing an increase in new cases. Worse is the one where there have been more No Vax demonstrations. Here is the data.
