The Greens continue to urge vaccination for employees in the health and care sector.
Berlin – “Personally, I am firmly convinced that, in view of the dramatic numbers, we absolutely need a facility-specific vaccination requirement in the health system,” said the Green health expert Janosch Dahmen on the television program “RTL Direkt”. You have to thank the people in the health care system, but also make it clear: “If you are responsible for other people, it is not just an individual decision whether you are vaccinated or not.”
The SPD, the Greens and the FDP are currently discussing vaccination requirements in certain areas. The FDP health politician Andrew Ullmann said on Tuesday on rbb-Inforadio: “We have never categorically rejected a compulsory vaccination, we have to talk about it intensively.” For this purpose, further hearings of experts are necessary. One should not introduce a compulsory vaccination “from the hip”.
Ullmann rejected compulsory vaccination for certain occupational groups: “That makes little infectious sense,” said the FDP politician. “If mandatory vaccination is introduced, then you have to talk about facilities, or talk and discuss regional vaccination obligations, because here people are all the same and can also infect each other and become seriously ill.” The facility-specific solution would mean that people in nursing homes or hospitals are required to have vaccinations, regardless of their occupation.
