The island of Crete in Greece was hit by an earthquake on Tuesday. The magnitude of the quake was 6.3.

Crete an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 has struck near the island in Greece, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) news agency Reuters at noon on Tuesday.

According to preliminary media reports, no one was injured, the news agency AFP says.

The quake was two kilometers deep. The center of the quake was located at sea 405 kilometers southeast of Athens, the National Observatory of Athens said in a statement.

Two weeks ago, one person was killed and ten were injured in a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in Crete.
