Grizzlies fifth success in the last 6 even with the star in the pits. All easy for the Pacers
Even without Ja Morant, Memphis strolls around Houston as Indiana smoothly gets rid of the reworked Blazers.
Houston Rockets-Memphis Grizzlies 98-122
The Grizzlies (49-23) restart after the setback in Atlanta going to win without problems in Houston (17-54) and they do it leaving Morant in the pits, who came out battered from the challenge against the Hawks. The leader of Memphis, in fact, remains at rest due to a problem in his right knee. The guests, led by Bane, try to place the sprint in the final of the first quarter, reaching the double-digit advantage. Williams also makes himself heard attacking the basket and giving production from the bench to the Grizzlies. Houston responds with a very active Schroder, who with his penetrations brings back the Texan team in the second fraction, but with the return on the parquet of the owners Memphis closes the first half in crescendo and arrives at the break ahead 56-44. The turnover of the visiting team gives confidence to Houston that with the usual Schröder and an excellent Sengun try to get close. Brooks and Melton’s triples think about reigniting the Grizzlies’ attack, Memphis accelerates in the final of the fraction and returns to a comfortable +13 at the end of the third quarter. The Rockets are no longer able to keep pace with the visiting team that with the baskets of the Brooks-Bane pair puts the result in safety. Even without Morant, Memphis finds its fifth success in the last six races.
Houston: Schröder 17 (3/7, 3/6, 2/2 tl), Martin Jr. 15, Porter Jr. 14. Rebounds: Sengun 9. Assist: Christopher 7.
Memphis: Bane 24 (5/7, 3/6, 5/5 tl), Brooks 20, Melton 16. Rebounds: Adams 9. Assists: Bane, Jones 7.
Indiana Pacers-Portland Trail Blazers 129-98
All easy for the Pacers (25-47) against the reworked Blazers (26-44). Indiana immediately sets things straight and starts with the right concentration, soon touching +14. Brissett immediately finds pace at shooting, Smith’s production from the bench then helps a lot, Indiana so takes off at the beginning of the second fraction. Portland in attack in the first half is practically the only Hart, the home team so without even having to work too hard it reaches the interval ahead of 21 points. Before the break, however, the Indianapolis audience peels off their hands to applaud Brissett’s cinematic dunk that blows up the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Hart picks up where he left off and punishes Indiana’s defense carelessness. The hosts leave the concentration in the locker room, so the Blazers try to reopen a match abundantly compromised by playing a great basketball in the third quarter. Brissett, however, gets back to scoring, the Pacers raise the level of attention and take the reins of the match in hand. Indiana presses on the accelerator at the opening of the fourth period and with a partial of 20-7 arrives at +25 six minutes from the siren that knows so much about the sentence. The rest is academia.
Indiana: Brissett 24 (6/7, 2/3, 6/6 tl), Anderson 18, Smith, Taylor 17. Rebounds: Brissett 9. Assit: Stephenson 11.
Portland: Hart 26 (8/8 3/5, 1/1 tl), Watford 17, Eubanks 12. Rebounds: Eubanks, Watford 8. Assists: Dunn 9.
