The modality B-Spec could come back in Gran Turismo 7 with a substantial upgrade thanks to GT Sophythe new super advanced AI born thanks to the collaboration between Polyphony Digital and Sony AI.
This was confirmed by Kazunori Yamauchi during an interview with GT Planet, where he talked about how Sophy, the AI capable of competing even with professional drivers, will be integrated into Gran Turismo 7 with a update which will be released after the game launches.
“Sophy will appear to players in three different forms,” says Yamauchi. “As a teacher who will explain to the players how to drive, as a student who will learn sportsmanship from the players and as a friend to challenge in competition.”
However, the introduction of Sophy could bring with it another novelty potentially appreciated by the players, namely the B-Spec mode.
“I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a B-Spec mode, where the player is the race director and Sophie is the driver.”
For the uninitiated, the B-Spec mode is a kind of managerial option, where the player lets a driver driven by the CPU drive in the Events in Career mode, however deciding which car to use and giving orders in the race to influence his driving style. .
The B-Spec mode is present from Gran Turismo 4 and has also been introduced in subsequent chapters, while it has not been confirmed for Gran Turismo 7. At the moment it is therefore not clear whether it will be available after the launch of Sophy or if a version of it ” classic “will be included as early as day-one, which we remind you is set for i March 4, 2022 for PS5 and PS4.
