MotoGP Motegi, the news of the Japanese GP
Pecco Bagnaia completes a perfect weekend in Motegi and after winning the Sprint race on Saturday he also takes home the ‘classic’ GP on Sunday, scoring his first career success in Japan in MotoGP. The Italian thus recovers another five points in the standings over his direct rival and world championship leader Jorge Martin, who however, after starting from 11th position on the grid, did well to limit the damage and bring home a good second place finish. The other Ducati of Marc Marquez completes the podium, resisting well the comeback attempt of Enea Bastianini, who finished fourth after losing a lot of time at the start of the race behind Brad Binder.
Disappointment, however, again today, for Pedro Acosta. The poleman, who crashed yesterday in the Sprint while he was leading, also fell down today when he was in second position, in an attempt to keep up with the pace of a wild Bagnaia. The Spanish rookie then tried to complete a few more laps after his crash, but subsequently retired from the race. The best among the non-Ducati bikes was Binder himself, sixth under the checkered flag with his official KTM, also beaten by Franco Morbidelli’s other Prima-Pramac.
