Government, the Rt index scares: vaccination obligation is evaluated
The Italian government considers following in the footsteps of the other European countries that have decided to introduce the vaccination obligation. The decision of the obligation should inevitably pass through a law approved by Parliament.
The obligation – continues Repubblica – remains the final card. Much will depend on the Rt index. It continues to rise. And this is the fact that alarms the technicians. Yesterday 16,000 cases were registered. The replication index has been stably between 1.2 and 1.3 for several weeks. Maintaining this pace, in the space of three or four weeks there will be 200,000 positives per week. Too many. The Rt must be cooled, brought back to 1, to a maximum of 1.05. The hypothesis is to make it mandatory for workers. On the basis of the same principle used for doctors and law enforcement, the obligation could be extended to all workers. Everything is based on a standard that already exists. And on a item: 279 of law decree 81, the employer is required to “make vaccines available for those workers who are not already immune”. If not, the employee must be turned away.
