The federal government issued a provisional measure this Friday (24) that opens extraordinary credit for the purchase of vaccines aimed at combating the covid-19 pandemic. The MP provides for a budget supplement in the amount of R$6.4 billion.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the resource will be made available to the National Health Fund and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). Fiocruz has a partnership with the consortium formed by the University of Oxford and the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca to manufacture a vaccine against covid-19.
The Agency Brazil contacted the Ministry of Health requesting more information on how many doses of which immunizers will be purchased with the resource and is awaiting a return.
