Caixa paid the 1st batch on the 5th (May 30th); data validation must be carried out by the person responsible for each center with the Gov.br account
The federal government enabled over 47,584 homeless or displaced families from 47 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul to access the Reconstruction Aid website and confirm the data registered by the city halls to access the 2nd batch of the R$5,100 benefit. More than 90,000 families affected by the floods have so far been approved to receive the benefit.
Data validation must be carried out by the person responsible for each family with the Gov.br account. After confirmation, the information will be sent to the Caixa Econômica Federalwhich will make the deposit into the beneficiary’s account.
In the 1st batch, of the 44,592 approved families, 34,196 validated the information and guaranteed the right to appeal. Caixa made the first payments on Thursday (May 30, 2024).
According to the Minister of Regional Integration, Waldez Góes, “it is important that families validate their data as quickly as possible, have access to money and start rebuilding their lives”.
The minister also said that the work of city halls must be continuous. “Municipalities can and should feed the system at all times. Our objective is to speed up the resource release process as quickly as possible and we would like to thank Dataprev and Caixa Econômica Federal for their efforts.”he stated.
Release of funds
The Ministry of Integration and Regional Development has so far approved R$336.6 million to serve 214 municipalities. Additionally, 456 work plans were approved. In total, 169 deaths were recorded. There are still 45 people missing, 581,638 homeless and 45,651 in shelters. The number of animal rescues reached 12,527 and 473 municipalities were affected by the rain.
The ministry also began receiving work plans for the reconstruction of areas destroyed by the climatological disaster. So far, 46 reconstruction plans are under analysis.

On his Instagram page, the chief minister of the Extraordinary Secretariat for Support for Reconstruction of Rio Grande do Sul, Paulo Pimentasaid this Friday (May 31) that he continues touring the State, fulfilling the mission given by the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
“President Lula gave us the mission of traveling through RS and we are doing so. Today we came to Rio Grande to listen to the community, talk to the mayor and local leaders to identify in which areas there are demands that we can support”he stated.
Pimenta visited FURG (Federal University of Rio Grande), which adapted the classroom pavilion to house families affected by the floods, and met with representatives from the productive sectors. The minister also visited the facilities of the Field Hospital, built in Parque Marinha to reinforce medical care for the population.
