The roster of branded television series The CW inspired by DC superheroes will expand even further, with a new production based on Gotham Knights.
In addition to the films set in the World of DC, fans have been able to count on a good number of television series inspired by the paper counterparts, such as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl or the recent Crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths.
The appreciation of these productions then led The CW the realization of other projects, including the announcement of Gotham Knights, announced a few hours ago. The protagonist of the story will be the adopted son of Bruce Wayne that, following the murder of Batman, he will team up with the children of several villains in the city.
The authors who are developing the series are the same writers as Batwoman, Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux And Natalie Abrams, but nevertheless it will not be a spin-off nor will it be linked to the video game of Gotham Knights which will be released under the wing of Warner Bros. Games.
The official logline reads as follows (translated into Italian):
At the dawn of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies, as they are all framed for the Dark Knight’s killing. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this gang of renegades must clear their names. But a Gotham without its executioner to protect it, sinks into the worst chaos ever. However, hope arises from the most unexpected places as this team of fugitives will become the next generation of saviors.
Just like the other series from The CW, Gotham Knights will be produced by Warner Bros. Television And Berlanti Production. In addition to Fiveahs, Stoteraux and Abrams on the screenplay, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter And David Madden they will be executive producers.
In 2022 we will see the return of DC’s Stargirl And Superman & Lois, while Naomi will see her first season on January 11, 2022.
