Google Chromecast has sold over 100 million units over its 11-year history and is one of Google’s most popular devices. The Google TV Streamer has a larger design than the old Chromecast and can be placed under your TV rather than as close to it as it used to be.
New to the list is that users can now directly control both Google Home and Matter-compatible accessories, including a Nest Display or a large-screen Pixel Tablet. It also now features Gemini’s artificial intelligence.
With it, it will be easier to find what to watch on Google TV Streamer. The device uses Google AI to show content suggestions across all the subscription services you have – conveniently organized in one place. Gemini will also be used to summarize reviews and even TV seasons – in short, it will be the replacement for Search.
Google TV Streamer to display content in 4K
Similar to Chromecast, the new system supports 4K and Dolby Atmos and has an improved processor and 32GB of memory inside for faster performance.
Google TV Streamer offers access to over 700,000 movies and shows through streaming apps like YouTube TV, Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, and many more. Plus live TV with over 800 free channels.
The Google TV Streamer includes a remote control with dedicated buttons for Netflix and the Google Home panel. There is also a button built right into the TV Streamer that will help you find the remote when it gets lost on the couch.
Google TV Streamer is available for pre-order in the US and will ship by September 26. It has a price of $99.99 in grey and white.
