The sad news of the disappearance of Queen Elizabeth II inevitably cloaked the entire paddock of Monza with a patina of sadness, where the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix is scheduled for this weekend. The entire Circus was struck by the announcement made by the Royal Family at 19.30, Italian time, but obviously it was above all the Anglo-Saxon component – majority within the stables – that was crushed by the weight of the disappearance of a sovereign who led the United Kingdom for 70 years, more than anyone else before her.
Since the moments following the news of the death of Elizabeth II, the whole world of social networks has been invaded by messages from teams (obviously starting from the British teams), pilots, managers and organizations of any car or motorcycle championship who have felt the need to pay their message of condolence to the Royal Family to the entire British people. Stefano DomenicaliCEO of Formula 1, summed up in a few words the thinking of the whole Circus: “For over seven decades the Queen has dedicated her life to public service with dignity and devotion and has inspired countless people around the world. Formula 1 sends its deepest condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth“. Below is a rundown of some of the most significant messages that have appeared on Twitter in the last few minutes.
