Railway personnel will now be able to easily get treatment in any railway hospital in the country. For this, they just have to show the Asha Health Card. Through this, the doctors of the concerned hospital will be able to see the case history of the railway worker, all the investigations on one click. For this, the Ministry of Railways has entrusted RailTel to implement Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).
Railway personnel currently get treatment in the hospitals of the workplace. After getting the referral, they get treatment at other places if needed. Meanwhile, Chairman and CEO of Railway Board VK Yadav has given instructions to connect 125 railway hospitals and 650 polyclinics across the country under integrated system. He has entrusted the task of implementing this scheme to Railtel Chairman and MD Puneet Chawla.
Data of 13 lakh railway personnel will be accessible from anywhere
Hospital management information system will be connected with such software, through which all railway hospitals across the country will be connected. Apart from this, the data of all 13 lakh railway personnel will be accessible from anywhere. CMS of Northern Railway, Dr. VM Sinha informed that HMIS will also be able to customize clinical data of all railway hospitals and dispensaries.
Medical history will be available on mobile
RailTel, the company that has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the software, will provide their medical history to railwaymen on their Android mobiles. Apart from this, a link will also be given to the report of the tests conducted during the treatment.
Preparation to connect all hospitals with HMIS
Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, CMS, Northeast Railway, said that currently NER patients at Badshahnagar, Aishbagh and Gonda Hospitals are connected to HIMS software. There is a plan to connect all hospitals with HMIS on the same lines.
