Appealing to their status as number one seeds in the A1 Pádel Santander Sevilla Master, a tournament sponsored by ABC de Sevilla, and with the guarantee of adding seven titles this season, the Argentine duo composed of Gonzalo Alonso and Leonel ‘Tolito’ Aguirre reached the quarterfinals of said competition this Thursday after defeating the couple formed by the Spanish Aimar Goñi and the Uruguayan Diego Ramos. In, possibly, one of the best games seen these days at the San Pablo Sports Palace.
An expected triumph, but much more worked than expected. And it is that Goñi and Ramos took the first set 5-7forcing Gonza and Tolito to come back. Both forced the third set after signing a resounding 6-3. In the all or nothing of the third set, logic prevailed to the satisfaction of the Argentine couple (they won it 6-2). The effort of an almost perfect first set would undoubtedly end up taking its toll on Goñi and Ramos.
In another of the round of 16 clashes, the Argentine couple also made up of Luciano Puppo and Máximo Maldonado (seeded number 16) defeated their compatriots Maxi Sánchez and Federico Chiostri (seeded number five) in two sets. The final 6-3 and 6-4, a result that few expected at the beginning of the match. Puppo and Maldonado will face Gonza Alfonso and Tolito Aguirre this Friday, in the third round of the quarterfinals. The session will begin again, as in the last two days, at 4:00 p.m.

The Sandra Ibarra Foundation has been a pioneer in promoting and financing prevention, awareness and research projects around cancer, with a particular focus on the humanization of healthcare.
