In the last few hours, various rumors have been spreading online according to which the publishing house GOEN / RW Editions has failed since the first days of last May. For all intents and purposes there has been no news of new releases or reprints since April 5thwith the latest post on social media by GOEN where, in fact, the latest releases were announced.
It all started from a post published by a former collaborator of the publishing house who, after numerous payment reminders for an issued invoice, appealed to the competent judicial authority. Only later was it discovered that GOEN / RW Edizioni would go bankrupt around the beginning of May.
I use the conditional because, after having carried out numerous research on the company in question, no data has emerged regarding the alleged failure; the only certain fact is that it is a registered company inactivethat is never communicated the actual start of activities to the Chamber of Commerce.
From the historical chamber of commerce inspection that I had the opportunity to analyse, no data has emerged regarding the alleged failuretherefore no ruling from any court and no appointment of a bankruptcy trustee who can manage the company’s latest outstanding debts.
However, it appears that the aforementioned company, in the first two weeks of May, has changed registered office moving to a province in southern Italy, in the same region where the other company mentioned by the same author of these posts has its registered office: Alastor SRLwhich the older among us will remember is a historic comics shop and an omnipresent supplier on the pages of Preview since the early 2000s. After also analyzing Alastor’s company registration, I found that the two companies do not report the same tax code and/or VAT number but – for privacy reasons I won’t go into specifics – some data actually coincide.
As far as we are concerned, we are all well aware of the conditions in which the series edited by the publishing house found themselves and the constant complaints from readers. This, however, absolutely must not justify the behavior of some users who are crying out for the miracle of the failure of GOENbecause, as I explained to you, at the moment it is not possible to confirm the status of the company in any way. In addition to failure we could also talk about corporate restructuringbut it would still not justify non-payment to all collaborators.
I remind everyone that in no way am I defending the company or the person who spread this news, but only the right and duty to report. We just have to wait for a possible response from the publishing house or parent company regarding the issue. Until then, barring further updates which I reserve the right to publish, nothing is certain at the moment.
