The president advisor of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Guadalupe Taddei, called on the citizens to go to vote with peace of mind this Sunday June 2nd.
In an interview with the media, Taddei assured that measures have been taken so that citizens feel accompanied by security elements and mentioned that where there are boxes installed, it will be safe go.
“Let them do it with peace of mind when the authority has already authorized it. If your box is installed, go with the peace of mind that that box has a way to navigate the roads to reach it in peace and safety.”
The president advisor assured that contact with the security table is permanent for any setback that may occur.
“Right now, with more reason; At the state level, contact is also permanent, if we face any unforeseen situation we immediately inform the security table and the corresponding actions are taken.”
It should be noted that this electoral process has been marked by violence with murder of applicants, pre-candidates and candidates.
Of the most recent episodes, on May 31, two days before the race and in the middle of the electoral ban, the candidate for councilor in Izúcar de Matamoros, Puebla, Jorge Huerta Cabrera, was shot dead. The candidate belonged to the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) and was part of the slate of Eliseo “El Chino” Morales candidate for municipal president in Izúcar de Matamoros.
