Gordon Murray Automotive opened fire on the supercar segment with the lightning-fast T.50 and the possibly even faster T.50s Niki Lauda, now follows a less radical sportsman who could be used daily. But don’t make a fool of it, because the GMA T.33 is also powered by a midship-mounted V12 that drives the rear wheels via a manual six-speed gearbox. You can also go for an Xtrac-made sequential switch.
The 3.9 liter V12 developed by Cosworth, weighing only 178 kilograms, can cope without a compressor, without turbos and without an electric boost. But that keeps the high-revving block – the red zone is at 11,000 rpm – to come out particularly spicy. The power unit develops an output of 617 hp and a maximum torque of 451 Nm, 75% of which is already available at 2,500 revolutions. Not bad for a car that only weighs 1.1 tons. Gordon Murray Automotive does not communicate performance data, but we have no doubt that the GMA T.33 is a darn fast supercar.
1.64 million euros
No central seating position as in the T.50, but a classic two-seater cockpit. Although the interior of the GMA T.33 is neatly finished and uses beautiful materials, Gordon Murray Automotive keeps digital displays out. That’s not to say that this Spartan-looking supercar doesn’t have the necessary comfort gadgets: both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available. The T.33 would also have a trunk volume of 288 liters, which is integrated on the sides of the car.
Gordon Murray Automotive foresees an edition of 100 copies, with the choice between left and right-hand drive copies. Each GMA T.33 carries a price tag of 1.37 million British pounds, about 1.64 million euros at the current exchange rate. But you also get a very special super sports car in return. You can order now, the first deliveries would not start until 2023.
