Two years without success
The difficulties encountered by Mercedes in 2022 and almost all of Red Bull's victories this year have had a negative impact on the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, away from victory for two consecutive seasons. From 2007 to 2021, i.e. from its debut in Circus until Max Verstappen's definitive and record-breaking explosion, the Englishman had achieved at least one success in all the years he played, then reaching a stop which he has not yet managed to overcome.
The talent in question
The Englishman's goal will obviously be to return to the top step of the podium in 2024, even if his prolonged absence from the most coveted place for a rider has raised doubts about the form of the winner of 103 GPs in his career, figure which represents an absolute record in the history of F1. The current crisis, combined with that of Mercedes, has meant that the talent of Hamilton was no longer considered by some to be one of the best.
Glock's defense
An opinion strongly opposed by a former pilot like Timo Glockwith the German who considered this consideration absurd: “It makes me laugh that people say Lewis has lost his talent – declared a BettingSites.co.uk – it's ridiculous. How could this be done? It's impossible, and this is not the case. Maybe if he was over 50, but Lewis is still there, and if he has the right package he is capable of being world champion again.”
The scenario of a future elsewhere
During this season, Hamilton reached an agreement relating to contract renewal with Mercedeswith the parties remaining united until 2025. News that Glock learned with the knowledge that the Brackley team is the ideal place for Hamilton, but also with a hint of regret, given that he would have preferred to see the team at work English with other teams in the coming years: “Lewis knows exactly what he has available there – commented – maybe it would have been nice to see it in a Ferrari. But if you look at the facts, the biggest chance of winning the championship is with Mercedes, because he would not have moved to Red Bull. The decision to stay where he is was the right one.”
