From Fidel Castro’s watch to the star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and then sculptures, paintings, furniture, photographs, memorabilia of all kinds: there are 410 lots belonging to Gina Lollobrigida (1927-2023), icon of Italian cinema, great diva loved by the public.
The memorabilia were kept in the large villa on the Appia Antica in Rome, which the Wannenes auction house is putting up for sale in the auction on Tuesday 28 May (starting at 2pm) in its Genoese headquarters of Villa Carrega Cataldi in via Albaro.
The sale
The sale was arranged by the notary Vittorio Occorsio with the approval of the heirs and the authorization of the court as part of the procedure for liquidating the beneficiary inheritance. The factotum Andrea Piazzolla was convicted at first instance for circumvention of an incompetent person, while his son Milko Skofic contested the will.
The auction
The auction offers a special catalog with unique collectibles, from home furnishings to objects that testify to the actress’s history and her important personal ties: such as the Seiko watch given to her by Fidel Castro when the diva visited him in Cuba, men’s model in titanium personalized with the writing “to Gina with admiration. Fidel Castro”; or the star on the star walk, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, received on 1 February 2018. Added to this recognition is a Golden Globe Award to Gina Lollobrigida, a David di Donatello and two Nastri d’Argento, also in auction, received over the years by the iconic actress of Italian cinema.
