Ghost of Tsushima he has already had more than one way to bewitch and enchant us with his incredible atmosphere and its interesting gameplay, which despite already being quite derivative at its first release, was able to win over the public both with a very strong personality and with a couple of pretty good gems. With the Director’s Cut then, a year later, the work of sucker Punch it has improved further, not only from a technical point of view for its arrival on today’s flagship, PlayStation 5, but also with various additions that have made it even more complete, both in the story and in some refined mechanics.
In recent days Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut it also came up PCthe ultra-definitive version that will give owners of high-performance machines – and not only – the chance to get their hands on the title, and make the most of its potential, even beyond that of PlayStation 5. Let’s discover it together in our review.
The return of the Phantom
Obviously in this review we will only give a smattering of it plot of the game, given that we explored it extensively both in the first review of the game and when the Director’s Cut was released on console, which we invite you to recover.
Within the title we will be put in control of Jin Sakai, heir of his clan, who will try in vain together with the samurai led by his uncle, to repel the Mongol army that landed in Japan. Going by historical facts, the invasion was obviously successful, and the entire Japanese forces were wiped out Khotun Khan and his men. Jin is saved by a thief, Yuna, after being seriously injured and left for dead. From this moment on, and after a new defeat which we will not tell you about so as not to spoil too much, Jin begins a journey to liberate Tsushima, sacrificing part of his honor, and combining the style of the samurai, stealthy techniques dedicated to silent assassination (hence the nickname, the Spectre). After all, the Mongols do not know honor, so it is necessary to fight fire with fire.
This is important dualism it is the basis of the entire game, and will see us players make very important choices for the development of our character.
With the Director’s Cut that we are telling you about, to the main plot were added several contentsas new main missions related toIki Island, an area also under Mongol hegemony. Already not bad content at the time of release, which added between 10 and 15 hours of gameplay to the main experience. To this we add all the updates that have occurred over time, the multiplayer mode, and more, and the framework of a great product it will be complete.

A Spectrum on PC (and laptop)
As regards the transposition of the title, we are faced with it one of the best works so far the passing of the baton between Sony consoles and PC. In fact, we are talking about a title that manages to give visual feedback and a very important average FPS, even with machines with mid-range builds. We tested Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut with different compositions, and we can say that the results were satisfactory to say the least. The work edited by Nixxes it was truly worthy of praise.
The test with the best performing machine featured a I7 10700k processora video card Asus Rog 4070tia 64GB dd4 3200mhz RAM, and an SSD memory wd black sn750. With these specifications we decided to push the game to maximum of its possibilities, with truly excellent results. We are talking about an excellent visual quality, which without compromises or limits, has kept the FPS to an average of 95with highs of 134 and lows of 87 (which are still excellent) to one 4K resolution.
Testing it instead with a PC with a medium/high compositionand always keeping everything at the maximum, we arrive at an average of 80FPSwith minimum drops to 60, and good moments reaching 95 FPS (with FHD resolution 1920×1080). All of this is really pleasing, already thinking about how much good was seen on a technical level on PS5.
Also Worthy of mention is the optimization of the mouse and keyboard keyswhich although in our opinion remain a bit more uncomfortable than the pad composition, will not make players who are strongly attached to classic PC peripherals regret using them.
We conclude our analysis with the Steam Decks: the code kindly offered to us by Sony for Steam gave us the opportunity to try the title also on the portable platform Valve. This is not to be underestimated, because a huge game like Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, played in portability, it could really be an edge. Well, the test result surprised us quite a bit. Also in this case we are faced with one of the best transpositions of Sony games, given that we have an average of 40/45 FPS on a “small” screenhowever, the battery life was actually affected, put to the test by the game.
