Son Servera – On the holiday island of Mallorca, a bridge had to be demolished on Saturday (September 17th). The reason? Two German pensioners had rammed the pillar of the historic monument with their car. They had strayed off the road with the small car, reports the Mallorca newspaper.

A destroyed monument: As the photos from the scene of the accident show, one of the pillars of the “Pont den Calet” bridge at the entrance to Son Servera in the east of Mallorca has clearly collapsed. The two pensioners had strayed off the road in their small Skoda car and crashed into the bridge pier. The German couple was cared for by an ambulance on site and taken to a hospital in Manacor. It is not known how badly the two occupants were injured.
