Jakob Johnson is moving from Patriots to Raiders
Cologne (SID) – The change of the German football professional Jakob Johnson to the Las Vegas Raiders is perfect. On Thursday, the NFL club from the gambling paradise announced the commitment of the 27-year-old.
Previously, several league insiders had reported that the fullback would go to the Raiders.
The Stuttgart native said goodbye to the New England Patriots, the NFL professional’s previous employer, after the deal was announced via Instagram. He is “eternally grateful” to the club, the city of Boston and the fans, Johnson said. What team owner Robert Kraft did for football in Germany will have an “influence on generations”. Head coach Bill Belichick fulfilled the “lifelong dream” of the NFL for an “inexperienced and unknown guy”.
Johnson was released Sunday from the Patriots, for whom he had played since his NFL debut. Johnson had played in 38 games for the franchise since 2019, and in 2020 he caught his first touchdown in the NFL in a game against the Seattle Seahawks.
