The Georgian political party “Alliance of Patriots” appealed for help to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The text of an open letter promulgated by the leader of the political force Irma Inashvili, publishes portal “Georgia Online”.
The authors of the letter note that they participated in the formation of the “Dialogue Group” between Georgian and Russian deputies, as well as in the creation of the “Vienna format” with the participation of Georgian, Russian, European and American experts.
In addition, as stated in the appeal, polls were conducted in Georgia, during which 70 percent of respondents supported the idea of military neutrality, and almost 76 percent spoke in favor of a dialogue with Russia.
However, the ruling Georgian Dream party, supporters of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili and Western-funded NGOs publicly accused the poll organizers of being Kremlin agents and demanded their arrest, the Alliance of Patriots said. As a result, the work of the Dialogue Group and the Vienna Format was completely frozen.
“We appeal to you in the hope of your assistance in resuming our cooperation within the framework of the State Duma, the Federation Council and the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. Your assistance is also extremely necessary in the organization of joint media, cultural and social projects, ”the letter says.
