At the secular temple of Staglieno, the last emotional farewell to Giuseppe “Pippo” Marcenaro: intellectual, journalist, writer and bibliophile, would have turned 82 in March. Montale, Stendhal and Rimbaud were his great literary loves. In over half a century of activity he has written for newspapers and magazines. Owner of a library of over 30 thousand volumes, including many rare pieces and first editions, he had dedicated the last few years to looking for an adequate location for them.
