New traffic directions and three hundred meters of restricted traffic area. Amt launches the first circular line with zero-emission vehicles
Genoa – It is the day of the start of the revolution – experimental – for the viability of the center of Nervi. With a limited traffic area of about three hundred meters. New driving directions. And among the changes, there is also the introduction of the first fully electric circular line for the city: it is the shuttle 515 that will move off Edilio Pesce, via Oberdan, viale Franchini, piazza Pittaluga, via Sala, largo Bassanite, via Sant’Ilario, via Somma and then back to largo Edilio Pesce.
A change not without perplexity and criticism: again last Thursday, in the public meeting at the Bocciofila in Quarto, the opinions opposed to the change starting today made themselves felt. Strong. And the Democratic Party has made a double garrison, with leaflets, to protest. Both the municipal councilor for mobility, Matteo Campora and, for the Levante Municipality, the president Francescantonio Carleo and the deputy Federico Bogliolo they underlined the experimental nature of what is being put into practice from today. Words that, however, have not calmed souls.
The highlights of the change are: the one-way in the east direction in the stretch of via Oberdan from the Largo Pesce roundabout to the intersection with viale Franchini; the creation of a Ztli between viale Franchini and piazza Pittaluga from east to west; the relocation of the terminus of 15 (no longer in viale Franchini but in via Pagano). For the limited traffic area at the moment, it was reiterated in the public meeting at the Bocciofila di Quarto, the pass will not be needed nor will there be any fines. The experimentation will continue until the end of January (with a budget that will be drawn either on 23 or 31 January 2022). Meanwhile, here are all the changes for those who travel by bus. The electric shuttle 515 will be active from 7.30 to 18.40. “With the establishment of this new line Nervi will become the first district of Genoa mainly served by electric vehicles thanks to lines 515, 516 and 517” underline by Amt.
As for the 15 and the 607 bus: towards the east they will no longer make the terminus in viale Franchini but, once they arrive in via Oberdan, they will turn into via del Commercio, continue along via Pagano where they will terminate together with line 17 /. On the other hand, towards the west: the buses of the two lines, departing from the terminus in via Pagano, will turn into via Oberdan and will resume their route to the center.
Lines 516 and 517 remain with the same route towards the west while towards the east, once they arrive in via Oberdan, they will continue along viale Franchini and piazza Pittaluga and then resume their usual route. Again: towards the east, lines 617 and N2, once arrived in via Oberdan, will continue along via del Commercio and via Pagano, where they will terminate. On the other hand, towards the west: the buses, departing from the terminus in via Pagano, will turn into via Oberdan from where they will resume their journey towards the center. The changes to the bus network foresee the suspension of line 17 for Capolungo and the simultaneous extension of the service of line 517: the first run from largo Edilio Pesce will be at 4.18 am, the last ride from via Somma will be made at 2.01 at night. Also from today also the line 17 /, which connects via del Commercio to via Ceccardi, will extend the service hours: the first runs are at 5 in the morning and the last ones around 21. From today the Drinbus on-call service will carry out the new stop in via Campostano in front of street number 2. The Taxibus i28 line, departing from piazza Pittaluga, will go along via Oberdan, viale Franchini, via Campostano, via Somma from where it will resume its regular route to San Rocco.
