The initiative to support the Gigi Ghirotti association and launch an awareness message on the need for greater protection of the sea and the environment
Genoa – Pinocchio, Geppetto and the Whale sculpted in chocolate to support the Gigi Ghirotti association and launch a message of awareness on the need for greater protection of the sea and the environment. It disembarks between Saturday 27 and Monday 29 November at the Cetacean Room of the Acquario di Genova Cioklart Mare, the event conceived by the master chocolatier Antonio Le Rose and organized by the Amici del Cioccolato association with the support of Note dal Cuore which combines chocolate with charity in favor of cancer patients.
Saturday 27 and Sunday 28, the Cetacean Room of the Genoese Aquarium will host a very particular “yard” where the pieces of a chocolate sculpture depicting Pinocchio, Geppetto and the Whale for a weight of about 230 kg and totally edible, they will be assembled by the master Le Rose under the eyes of the visitors of the Aquarium and in the presence of the evolutions of the dolphins. The statue will be a modern reinterpretation of the tale of Pinocchio, designed to make children and adults reflect on the relationship between man and the sea, and on how human activities have damaged the marine ecosystem.
Outside the Aquarium entertainment for children, music, dance and much more, with the participation of the Nida association of Turin and London Valor, the tribute band of Fabrizio De André. Also scheduled is the performance of a couple of tango dancers. Among the various “open air” initiatives scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Porto Antico, also Pinocchio and the Talking Cricket of the Pinocchio Park in Collodi which, on the initiative of the National Foundation “Carlo Collodi”, main sponsor of Cioklart Mare, will make Art Balloon .
The three days of Cioklart Mare will end Monday when the chocolate statue will be paraded preceded by a bagpipe to the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, to receive the blessing. The mascots of Pinocchio and the Blue Fairy, also from the “Collodi” Foundation, will also participate in the procession and ceremony. The journey of Pinocchio and the Chocolate Whale will end with the donation of the work to the Foundation that will take it to Collodi.
The three days of Cioklart Mare will also have an important one beneficial purpose. In fact, on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November, during the animation and various art activities that will take place at the Porto Antico, outside the Aquarium, the Gigi Ghirotti association, beneficiary of part of the proceeds from the event, will organize a fundraiser. Cioklart Mare is sponsored by the Municipality of Genoa, the Liguria Region and the Municipality of Pescia.
