Ramallah (Al-Ittihad)
Yesterday, the West Bank witnessed a general strike called by the Palestinian forces to mourn the victims of the Israeli bombing in Tulkarm camp the day before yesterday, which resulted in the death of 20 Palestinians.
In another context, the Israeli army prevented hundreds of Palestinians from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron, south of the West Bank, to perform Friday prayers, according to what was reported by the Palestinian News Agency, Wafa.
The Director of Endowments in the city of Hebron, Ghassan Al-Rajabi, said, “A small number of people were allowed to perform Friday prayers in the Ibrahimi Mosque.”
He added, “The Israeli forces closed the doors of the mosque and the military checkpoints leading to it in conjunction with Friday prayers, so hundreds were forced to perform prayers at the doors and checkpoints surrounding it.”
Yesterday, 15 Palestinian workers were injured as a result of Israeli soldiers beating them near the city of Jericho in the eastern West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crews transported 15 workers to the hospital to receive treatment after they were severely beaten by Israeli forces near Jericho.
For its part, the Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” said that the injuries were wounds and bruises, explaining that the Israeli police intercepted a vehicle in the town of “Al-Auja” in which workers were traveling as they were returning from their workplace in the Dead Sea, and severely beat them.
