In addition, it is noted that Chisinau agreed to pay the historical debt for the supply of Russian gas in past years, which, taking into account the penalty, reached $ 700 million.
Earlier on Friday, Gazprom’s management met with a delegation from Chisinau in St. Petersburg to discuss the terms of a new contract for the supply of Russian gas.
In turn, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov on October 27 pointed out that Moscow does not present political conditions to Chisinau for the resumption of gas supplies. He added that the country has a “debt problem” for gas to Russia. Peskov also recalled that Gazprom offered Chisinau a discount on the supply of this energy carrier.
