Ciudad Juárez.- There was always good communication with Francisco Garduño Yáñez, commissioner of the National Migration Institute (INM), and he was attentive to support the Municipality, Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar stated this morning, after his departure from the federal agency was announced yesterday.
“I understand the issue that arises around his process, but what I can say as municipal president and in coordination with the National Migration Institute is that he was always a very attentive person, he even visited the “Kiki Romero” shelter. He was always very attentive and there was always good coordination,” he assured.
He added that his departure from Immigration is part of the changes that occur in an administration, in this case federal.
On Tuesday, President Claudia Sheinbaum said that “there is nothing” against Francisco Garduño, head of the National Migration Institute, who is under trial in investigations for the death of 40 migrants in this city.
But he announced that the governor of Puebla, Sergio Salomón, will replace the official starting in December, when he leaves office to Alejandro Armenta, also a Morenoist.
