A gang of criminals robbed on the afternoon of this Saturday, 5th, a jewelry store in Shopping Jardim, in the Morumbi neighborhood, in the south zone of São Paulo. According to the Military Police, two people were arrested and part of the stolen objects were recovered. Some of the robbers managed to escape and the police search continues.
According to Captain Felipe, from the Military Police, in an interview given to the program Brasil Urgente, from TV Band, the robbery took place around 3:30 pm at the Vivara jewelry store. The thieves were armed and surrendered the store’s employees and customers. Police arrived at the scene when the criminals were still present and managed to arrest two suspects. The rest managed to escape.
The two suspects were arrested by police officers from the 1st Company of the 16th Battalion. The case will be registered at the 89th Police District (Portal do Morumbi).
The first information about the robbery spoke of shots between criminals and security guards at the mall, but the Military Police did not confirm this information. “It could be that at some point there was an exchange of fire, but so far we have no information,” the captain told TV Band. The mall is closed.
