“In the current situation, Nasrallah could drag Lebanon into paying a very high price. They don’t imagine what could happen, and I think if they took a picture of Gaza they would understand, but logic doesn’t always speak,” Galant added while standing on a military exercise simulating combat on the northern border.
He continued: “You cannot kill civilians in the State of Israel, certainly not 12 children, and not pay the price for it, it does not work, this patent is not acceptable to us, and if necessary we will expand the operations and do what is necessary.”
“Your ability at this time here is focused on operational activity in defense, but we are preparing both for offense as well. We need to prepare, we have to be ready,” Galant told the soldiers.
Galant had previously threatened a strong response if Israel was attacked.
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah confirmed on Tuesday that his party and Iran are “obligated to respond” to Israel after the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh and his party’s operations commander in southern Lebanon, Fouad Shukr, amid fears that the escalation could slide into a regional confrontation.
And she threw Iran Hamas blamed Israel for Haniyeh’s killing, and vowed, along with Hezbollah, to take revenge. Israel has neither claimed nor denied responsibility.
