After almost forty years of activity and many beloved works produced, the studio GAINAX announces closure due to bankruptcy. Founded in 1984, the studio has worked on animated series such as NEON GENESIS EVANGELION but also to the development of games such as the saga of Princess Maker. Due to economic difficulties in recent years the studio has transferred the copyright of its most famous works to Studio Kharathe studio founded by Hideaki Year after leaving the company.
The reason for the bankruptcies is linked to a series of unresolvable debts caused by poor practice managementincluding the request for loans, the opening of subsidiaries that were not exploited to the fullest and the assignment of important roles to people who later proved incapable of management.
Despite Studio Khara has tried to support the company in recent years, including trying to change the internal management structure. Unfortunately, however, the debts were so deep that this too unfortunately proved useless.
