G7 leaders, meeting at a summit in southern Germany, on Sunday mocked some bare-chested photos of Russian President Vladimir Putin and joked about taking a similar one.

“Jackets on? Jackets off? Shall we take our coats off?” British Prime Minister Boris Johnson asked as he sat down at the table.
The leaders of the major Western economic powers — the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom — are gathered for three days in the Bavarian castle of Elmau.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggested they wait for the official photo before undressing, but then Johnson joked, “We have to prove we’re tougher than Putin,” and the joke continued.

“We’re going to have a bare-chested horse riding exhibition,” Trudeau said, referring to the 2009 photo of Putin shirtless on horseback.
“Horse riding is the best,” reacted the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, without commenting on the clothing issue. “We have to show them our pecs”Johnson added.
Finally, the leaders posed – with their jackets on – for the photo session before the journalists left the room.
