The G7 Health begins in Ancona, armored and with the red zone that closes the center to traffic. The summit of health ministers from Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Germany, France and other EU countries opens today. The Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci, will welcome his counterparts and open the proceedings of the first day. The two-day event will also address two very hot topics, pandemics and antibiotic resistance. The objective on the table of ministers for the G7 Health is “to identify strategies that effectively address current crises and challenges that entail significant social and economic costs, while combating inequalities and promoting health as a fundamental value and strength of our societies “. At the center of the event there is also “the need to adopt sustainable dietary models to fight obesity and chronic-degenerative diseases, while simultaneously tackling malnutrition in developing countries”.

A welcome to all the delegates of the G7 members from Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Canada and the European Union; to all the delegates of the guest countries, coming from Albania, Brazil, India, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and South Africa; and finally to all the delegates of the international organizations present: FAO, WHO and OECD.

The city chosen to host the event, Ancona, opened its spaces which were chosen and developed specifically on the themes of health, healthcare and disability. The Mole Vanvitelliana, which will be home to the G7, was a Lazzaretto that could accommodate up to 2 thousand people.
