The G20 countries have assumed leadership and responsibility in the world during the coronavirus pandemic. This is stated in the declaration of the leaders of the G20 countries, adopted as a result of the summit on November 21-22, reports “Ukrinform”.
The G20 leaders recognized that coordinated global action, solidarity and multilateral cooperation are essential to overcome the pandemic and save life on the planet.
“We are committed to leading the world to the post-COVID-19 era by making it sustainable, balanced and accessible to all.”, – says the declaration.
World leaders have pledged to support the least developed and developing countries hardest hit by the pandemic.
The G20 also recalled the allocation of resources for the needs of the global health system, support for research, production and distribution of vaccines, as well as systems for the effective diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus.
The G20 summit was held in a virtual format under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia.
We will remind, today in the world the coronavirus has been confirmed in almost 59 million people. 1.4 million have died from infection. About 41 million were able to overcome the disease.
In Ukraine, on the morning of November 22, 624,744 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed, of them 10951 were lethal, 286 917 patients recovered. 12079 new cases of infection were recorded per day.
