Twelve party leaders who participate in the municipal elections on November 24 debated with each other last night in Myllesweerd in Mill in Brabant. The debate was temporarily halted by the Forum for Democracy leader Peter Verstegen.

Forum for Democracy did not want to participate in the party leader debate. The corona ticket to be displayed at the entrance was an obstacle for the party to participate in the debate. Forum list leader Peter Verstegen appeared on the podium shortly after the start, without a valid QR code. The other party leaders then left the podium and the debate was temporarily suspended.
Verstegen refused to leave the stage, even after he was pointed out by the administrator. In the end he managed to convince himself by the mayor of Mills Walraven to leave. Then the debate continued.
reasonable person
,,I spoke to him politely and told him that there are rules. And that we should treat each other with respect”, said Walraven a little later. ,,He said, I’m a reasonable person. Then, as a reasonable person, I summoned him to go outside quietly. That happened quickly then.”
Forum had received a permit from the municipality of Mill to hold its so-called freedom café on the Markt in Mill, 200 meters away.
The five municipalities in Land van Cuijk (Boxmeer, Grave, Mill en Sint Hubert, Sint Anthonis en Cuijk) will merge on 1 January 2022 to form the new municipality of Land van Cuijk. Thirteen parties are participating in the elections.
